On Tuesday, November 3, Anker Bioss hosted its 2026 Executive Breakfast in the Salón Barclay of the InterContinental Presidente Monterrey hotel in San Pedro Garza García, Nuevo León. The invitation-only gathering brought together CEOs, board members and executive leaders. The morning marked two milestones for the firm and the BIOSS lineage it carries forward: the official merger of Anker Bioss into a single global firm based in London, and the announcement of Verónica Elizondo as Global President of the firm.

To mark the occasion, we did what BIOSS has always done best: we held a conversation. The panel, “AI, Judgment, and the Future of the Organization,” explored how artificial intelligence is changing the way organizations make decisions, and what leaders have to protect as it does.

## The panel

Marco Landeros, CEO and Managing Partner of Anker Bioss, moderated. The panelists were:

- **Robbie Stamp**, Executive Director of the BIOSS Institute, Senior Fellow of the University of Cambridge and a member of the National Strategy Group chaired by Lord Robertson, former Secretary General of NATO. Robbie served on the British Standards Institution’s national AI committee and, earlier in his career, founded The Digital Village with his friend Douglas Adams.
- **Verónica Elizondo**, Global President of Anker Bioss, who joined the panel alongside the guests announced in the invitation.
- **Eduardo León**, Managing Director and Senior Partner at Boston Consulting Group, a member of the leadership team of BCG’s Global Advantage practice and co-author of several reports on Mexico’s strategic position in globalization, manufacturing and energy.
- **Jose J. Ruiz**, Chairman and Managing Partner of Anker Bioss.

## What the conversation covered

The discussion kept returning to one gap. Robbie framed it early: AI can do more and more of what people do, yet it “categorically cannot be held accountable” for that work. “You can use the word power to describe AI,” he said, “but you cannot use the word accountable.”

From there the panel worked through what that gap means in practice. I argued that “human in the loop” has become one of the most dangerous phrases in governance, because being in the loop does not mean understanding what you approve. Eduardo warned that as the cost of producing content approaches zero, the cost of judgment rises, and organizations risk “confusing quantity of content with quality of insight.” Verónica asked how we design jobs so people keep building the capacity to decide, even as they hand parts of the work to AI.

Guests from Monterrey’s business community joined in with questions on AI and small and medium-sized enterprises in Mexico, on which skills leaders should never delegate, and on whether judgment survives only if AI frees people to work closer to the front line.

The panel’s answers, and the practical takeaways for leaders, are collected in a companion article: [AI, Judgment, and the Future of the Organization: Takeaways from the Anker Bioss Executive Breakfast](https://josejruiz.com/en/insights/ai-judgment-future-of-the-organization-takeaways/).

## A new chapter for Anker Bioss

The merger brings Anker Bioss together as one firm, headquartered in London, working within the BIOSS tradition of Gillian Stamp and Elliott Jaques: the study of human judgment, decision-making and capability under uncertainty. Verónica leads the firm as Global President. As she put it at the close of the panel, the task is to redesign work so that people “work in flow,” with meaning intact, whatever tools they use.

Every guest left with a copy of my latest book, [AI in the Org Chart: A Leadership Guide to Implementing AI Without Losing Human Judgment, Accountability, and Trust](https://josejruiz.com/en/books/ai-in-the-org-chart/), which takes up many of the questions the panel raised.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in Monterrey, to Robbie for traveling so far to be with us, and to Eduardo for sharing his perspective from BCG.
